Log in to Nexgate

  • Updated

Nexgate offers a passwordless login experience, which means you don't need a password to access the platform.

To log in, you will use your email address and a one-time verification code sent to you via SMS or email.

This helps reduce login issues while maintaining strong account security.

How Passwordless Login Works

Step 1: Open Nexgate

Go to the Nexgate login page and select Sign in.

Step 2: Enter Your Email Address

Enter the email address associated with your Nexgate account.

Passwords are no longer used and are not required.

Step 3: Receive a Verification Code

A one-time verification code will be sent to you via:

  • SMS (recommended)
  • Email (if SMS is not enabled for your account)

Please note: Verification codes are valid for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Enter the Code

Enter the verification code to complete your login.

Once verified, you'll be signed in to Nexgate.

Do I Need to Do Anything Before Logging In?

If your Nexgate account has been inactive for 60 days or more, your user profile may need to be reactivated before you can sign in.

If this happens:

  • Contact your dealership's Nexgate Admin to reactivate your profile (recommended).
  • If your Administrator is unable to assist, they can escalate the request to Dealer Support.

We recommend contacting your Nexgate Administrator first, as this is typically the fastest way to restore access.

SMS vs Email Verification

Nexgate supports both SMS and email verification.

SMS verification is recommended because it provides stronger account security.

If you currently use email verification and would like to switch to SMS:

  • Contact your dealership's Nexgate Administrator.
  • They can update your verification settings by navigating to Settings > User Management.

Standard users cannot change verification methods themselves.

New Users: First-Time Access

If you're new to Nexgate:

  1. You'll receive a Welcome Email.
  2. Select the verification link within the email to confirm your email address.
  3. Once verified, you'll use the passwordless login process using your email address and a verification code.

Changing Your Phone Number or Email Address

For security reasons, identity verification is required before login details can be updated.

If you need to update your phone number or email address:

  • Contact your Nexgate Administrator.
  • Only Nexgate Administrators can update verification settings.

If you're an Administrator:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Select User Management.
  • Open the employee profile you wish to update.

Account Recovery

If you're unable to sign in because:

  • You no longer have access to your phone number
  • You can't access your email address
  • You aren't receiving verification codes

Please contact your Nexgate Administrator first.

If they are unable to resolve the issue, they can escalate it to Dealer Support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I enter my password?

Passwords are no longer used in Nexgate.

You only need your email address and a one-time verification code.

I didn't receive my verification code. What should I do?

If you're using email verification:

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Confirm you're using the correct email address.

If you're using SMS verification:

  • Wait a few moments and try again.
  • Confirm your mobile number is correct.

If you still don't receive a code, contact your Nexgate Administrator.

Can I resend the verification code?

Yes.

If your code expires or doesn't arrive, you can request a new code from the login screen.

Why was this change made?

Dealers told us that passwords and frequent sign-in issues created unnecessary friction.

Passwordless login simplifies access while maintaining strong account security.

Is this less secure than using a password?

No.

Passwordless login removes the need to create, remember, or reset passwords and uses one-time verification codes to confirm your identity.

Can I continue using email verification instead of SMS?

Yes.

Email verification remains available.

However, SMS verification is recommended because it provides stronger security.

How do I switch from email verification to SMS?

Contact your dealership's Nexgate Administrator, who can update your user settings.

Who is my Nexgate Administrator?

Your Nexgate Administrator is typically the person responsible for managing user access and platform settings for your dealership.

This is often a Dealer Principal, General Manager, Sales Manager, Used Vehicle Manager, New Vehicle Manager, or another designated administrator.

Can Dealer Support change my verification settings?

We recommend contacting your Nexgate Administrator first, as they manage security settings for your dealership.

Dealer Support may be able to help identify your administrator but will generally not update user verification settings directly for security reasons.

Does this apply to the Nexgate mobile app?

This update currently applies to Nexgate web access (desktop and mobile browsers).

Support for the mobile apps (iOS and Android) will be introduced in a future release.

Need Further Help?

If you're still having trouble signing in, please contact your Nexgate Administrator or reach out to Dealer Support for assistance.
