AutoGate now uses a passwordless login experience. This means you no longer need a password to access AutoGate.
Instead, you’ll log in using your email address and a one‑time verification code sent to you by SMS or email.
This change helps reduce login issues while maintaining strong account security.
How passwordless login works
Step 1: Open AutoGate
Go to the AutoGate login page and select Sign in.
Step 2: Enter your email address
Enter the email address associated with your AutoGate account.
Passwords are no longer used and are not required.
Step 3: Receive a verification code
A one‑time verification code will be sent to you via:
- SMS (recommended), or
- Email (if SMS is not enabled for your account)
Please note that this code will be valid for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Enter the code
Enter the verification code to complete your login.
Once verified, you’ll be logged in to your AutoGate dashboard.
Do I need to do anything before logging in?
In most cases, no.
You can continue logging in as usual — just without a password.
However, if your AutoGate account has been inactive for 60 days or more (meaning you haven’t logged in during this time), your user profile may need to be reactivated before you can sign in.
In this case:
- Contact your dealership’s AutoGate Admin to reactivate your profile (preferred option)
- If your Admin is unable to assist, they can escalate the request to our Dealer Support Team for support
We recommend contacting your AutoGate Admin first, as this helps resolve access issues more quickly and reduces the need for DST support.
SMS vs Email verification
AutoGate supports both SMS and email verification.
SMS verification is recommended, as it provides stronger security.
If you currently use email verification and would like to switch to SMS:
- Contact your dealership’s AutoGate Admin
- They can update your verification settings for you by going to AutoGate>Settings>User Management
Standard users cannot change verification methods themselves.
New users: first‑time access
If you’re new to AutoGate:
- You’ll receive a welcome email
- Click the verification link in the email to confirm your email address
- Once verified, you’ll use the passwordless login flow (email + verification code)
Changing your phone number or email
For security reasons, identity verification is required when updating login details.
If you need to change your phone number or email address:
- Contact your AutoGate Admin
- Only AutoGate Admins can update verification settings
If you’re an Admin, go to:
- Settings
- User Management
- Select an employee profile
Account recovery
If you’re unable to log in because you:
- No longer have access to your phone number
- Can’t access your email
- Aren’t receiving verification codes
Please contact your AutoGate Admin first.
If your Admin is unable to resolve the issue, they can escalate to our support team.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I enter my password?
Passwords are no longer used for AutoGate.
You only need your email address and a one‑time verification code.
- I didn’t receive my verification code — what should I do?
- If using email verification, check your spam or junk folder
- If using SMS, wait a moment and try again
- If you still don’t receive a code, contact your AutoGate Admin
- Can I resend the verification code?
Yes. If your code expires or doesn’t arrive, you can request a new one from the login screen.
- Why was this change made?
Dealers told us that logging in too often and managing passwords caused unnecessary friction.
Passwordless login helps reduce login interruptions while maintaining security.
- Is this less secure than using a password?
No. Passwordless login removes the need to store or remember passwords and uses one‑time verification codes to confirm your identity.
- Can I keep using email verification instead of SMS?
Yes. Email verification is still supported.
However, SMS verification is recommended for improved security.
- How do I switch from email to SMS verification?
Contact your dealership’s AutoGate Admin, who can update your settings.
- Who is my AutoGate Admin?
Your AutoGate Admin is typically the person at your dealership who manages user access and settings for AutoGate. It is usually a senior management like DP, GM, GSM, new and/or used manager.
- Can support change my verification settings for me?
We recommend contacting your AutoGate Admin first, as they manage security settings for your dealership. Support may assist in providing direction on who your account admin is but we prefer that they don’t update user settings for security reasons.
- Does this apply to the AutoGate mobile app?
This update currently applies to AutoGate web access (desktop and mobile browser).
Support for the mobile app will follow at a later date.
