What is a carsales Trade‑In Bonus?
Trade‑In Bonus, as part of the carsales Trade-In programme, allows you to create an offer with a fixed bonus amount and apply it to selected vehicles in your inventory to help make them more competitive.
How to create a carsales Trade‑In Bonus
Step 1: Log in and go to your inventory
- Log in to AutoGate
- Navigate to the Inventory list page
Step 2: Open Special Offers
- On the Inventory page, select the Special Offers tab
- Click Create offer
Step 3: Choose the offer type
- Select Trade‑In Bonus as the offer type
Step 4: Set your bonus amount
- Enter the bonus amount
- Minimum: $500
- Maximum: Any price can be set as long as it’s less than 10% of the vehicle price
Please note that if you enter more than $2,000, an alert will appear
Step 5: Set the offer dates
- Select a start date
- Select an end date
Step 6: Create the offer
- Click Create offer
Your Trade‑In Bonus will now appear back in the Special Offers tab → Dealer Offers
How to apply the Trade‑In Bonus to your inventory
Creating an offer does not automatically apply it to your vehicles — you’ll need to assign it manually.
Step 1: Go to your inventory
- Navigate to the Inventory list page
- From your vehicle list, locate the Publishing column
- Click Apply special offers next to the vehicle
Step 2: Open the Special Offers panel and Select your Trade-In Bonus
- Once you click Apply special offers next to the vehicle, this will open the Special Offers panel on the right-hand side of the screen.
- In the panel, go to Dealer offers
- Find the Trade‑In Bonus you created
- Toggle the offer on to apply it
Step 4: Confirm and review
- Once applied, the button will update to View special offer
- Click this to view the offer applied to that vehicle
Please note that you’ll need to repeat this process for each vehicle individually.
How to track your Trade‑In Bonus
- Go to Special Offers → Dealer Offers
- Identify your Trade‑In Bonus
- View how many vehicles the offer has been applied to

No — the amount must be a minimum of $500. There is no maximum amount, but it must be less than 10% of the vehicle price. An alert will appear if it exceeds $2,000.
