Test Drive Requests in Nexgate

  • Updated

What is the test drive request feature?

Buyers can propose a preferred day and time for a test drive straight after sending an enquiry.

The test drive requests then appear directly in your Nexgate Customer management page, alongside your other enquiries. No other extra tools or systems are needed.

Why it matters

Test drive requests are a strong signal that a buyer is likely ready to take the next step. By managing these requests in Nexgate, you can quickly identify and prioritise buyers who are likely closer to making a purchase.

What you need to remember

  • Keep the vehicle’s availability up to date in Nexgate for smoother scheduling.
  • Respond to test drive requests promptly to maximise your chances of converting enquiries.
  • Use the status update feature to track completed test drives and follow up with interested buyers.
  • If a car sells before an inspection, please make sure to notify any buyers that have a test drive booked on that car

FAQs

Do I need to confirm the time with the customer?

Yes, its crucial you do so. Buyers suggest a preferred time, but you’ll need to confirm or propose an alternative time via phone call or messages. As this feature develops, you’ll be able to edit the booking .

Does this add to my workload?
No. Requests are integrated into your existing Nexgate enquiry management workflow - no new tools or logins required. It shows stronger intent and interest from the buyer.

What if I can’t accommodate the requested time?

Contact the buyer and suggest another time. Requests are flexible, and customers will expect a follow-up.

Will requests appear in my DMS/CRM? –
Not yet. In this phase, requests are visible only in Nexgate. Integration with third-party DMS/CRM is planned and coming soon.

If a consumer requests a test drive after two days, does this go through as a separate lead?
No, it just sends a notification email that the consumer has requested a test drive. Test drives are not charged as additional leads; the consumer just has the ability to make the request after they have made their initial enquiry.

Is the feature available across New/Used?
Yes, both new and use for the dealers listed on the eligible dealer list.
